The project consisted of replacing 14 self-anchored movement compensators in the DN1600 discharge pipeline under Nice Côte d'Azur airport and rehabilitating all its manholes and drains. The self-anchored movement compensators are installed at the most sensitive points of the DN1600 discharge pipeline to prevent differential settlement. The existing movement compensators were installed in 1982 and had become fully compressed, meaning that they could no longer compensate for pipe settlement.
The chosen solution consisted of supplying BONNA Reinforced Concrete Cylinder Pipe (RCCP) self-anchored movement compensators with SL welded joints, 13 of which are equipped with misalignment and offset compensators inside the reinforced concrete lining, thereby avoiding any corrosion and enabling the compensators to be maintained and replaced from inside the compensators.
